will it be too late?

Hello. About a year ago a small flat mole appeared on the inside of my wrist. Yesterday I noticed that it was raised a little bit, not totally flat anymore. To me itl llooks like it is not symmetrical. I made an appt. with a derm., but I can't be seen until the end of Jan. If this is melanoma, will it be too late by then to get rid of all of it? Or will it have spread by then? Any input is appreciated. Thanx.

    • michelle, This sounds like one of those times where you should call the doctor's office again and express your concerns. You can begin by telling whomever answers the phone that you already have an appointment, but you're not sure if it's urgent and you should be seen right away. You will probably be allowed to talk to a nurse who works in the office and can answer your question, and if not, will talk to the doctor or let the doctor talk to you.
